Some of the exercises and techniques I use have undoubtedly evolved out of my interest in cultivating more \u2019roundedness\u2019 in those I am working with \u2013 in which the senses play a very significant part.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond these 12 senses, however, I believe there is a 13th sense. I would describe this as a sense of \u2018knowing\u2019 \u2013 rather more that the \u2018sixth sense\u2019 referred to above and closer to a form of clairvoyance. Anyone who has experienced this sense of knowing will understand what I mean even though it is hard to explain.<\/p>\n<p>The actual word \u2018sense\u2019 has a range of meanings. Chambers Dictionary defines the word \u2018sense\u2019 as:\u00a0faculty of receiving sensation; consciousness; inward feeling; mental attitude; understanding; feeling for what is appropriate; soundness of judgement; that which is reasonable\u00a0\u2026 and more.<\/p>\n<p>The use of the word to mean both something that is \u2018sensory\u2019 and something that is \u2018sensible\u2019 is an interesting one.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cOur senses are capacities of our being, capacities that are constantly active within us and capable of considerable development to make them more active.
